Re: OLD Modified Corvettes
I purchased this car a couple weeks ago from longtime division 3 track personnel Ron Mack, Ron has owned the car since 1969 and raced it in junior stock in the early 70's, he named the car Shotgun as a reply to his biggest rival in the class, Larry Lombardo. Ron later bracket raced the car & parked it around 1980. Of course the brakes were all stuck, fuel tank had rust in it & the radiator was rotted but the motor sounds great after not running for 35 years. Ron is a first class guy & I hope he can again make a pass in it this summer. I'll try and post updated photo's as I get it completed.........Thanks.........Doug Engels.

Re: OLD Modified Corvettes
Great car and look forward to the future pictures of it, you come up with some great finds, always liked that fawn color car with the big tires on the back.

Are you going to make it a stock or SS car? Either way, we know it will be a beauty (and fast). |

Re: OLD Modified Corvettes
Since this thread has resurfaced I thought I would post a couple pictures of the Shotgun car, after going through the car last winter & into spring, detailing the engine compartment, new carpet & seat covers etc. I took the car to the Thunder Valley reunion last summer and the Melt Down drags in Byron for a day, unfortunately Ron went in for emergency heart surgery at the same time & could not attend but we still had a good time making some laps in it. The other corvette pictured is the Georges Speed Shop modified production car out of Louisiana. was parked in the mid 80s and recently came out of storage. Thanks...........Doug

Re: OLD Modified Corvettes
Sorry if this is a repost. This is from Bowling Green, about 1980?
