1964 Nationals at Indianapolis
Okay all you dragracing history buffs, here's a complete look at the 1964 Nationals at Indianapolis. By complete I mean everything from the Stock/SS entry list to event coverage and then photos of all class winners with their cars. Enjoy!

I was immediately struck by how many cars were from the current model year. I didn't count, but it looked like a majority were new cars. I only spotted four entries that were more than 10 years old.
Also, the article claimed spectator attendance over 120,000.

I was impressed with the physical size of the straight Buick motor in Pete Shadinger's D/Dragster. That looked to be the size of a Cummins diesel. In later years he ran 240/300 Ford six engines.

Joe, That's exactly what my '58 Pontiac looks like, 3x2's, black, Chieftain, auto, posi..........29,000 miles. Fun car. JimR
