A new stop on the NMCA Edelbrock Drag Racing Series Tour this year is the return to Maple Grove Raceway in Pennsylvania. Bringing all the heavy hitters from the east coast, this event is sure to be a crowd pleaser. On top of all our regular drag racing event, we will be featuring the Inaugural Late-Model HEMI Shootout. As with all of our 2009 NMCA events, there will be two separate drag racing events on Saturday and Sunday. Don't forget to take some time to check out the Vendor midway, Car Show, Swap Meet and the infamous Burnout Contest! It's all waiting for you at Maple Grove Raceway!

The locals won't know what hit them when the NMCA Muscle Car Nationals comes to town. So don't miss out and head to Maple Grove Raceway for all the wheel-standing, tire-smoking action.

The National Muscle Car Association, the #1 muscle car series the US, is pleased to announce that it will host a very special ShopHemi.com Late-Model HEMI Shootout at its Reading, PA, event June 5-7, 2009. Mopar performance has been a big part of Maple Grove Raceway’s history and the ShopHemi.com Late-Model HEMI Shootout will be the premier modern Mopar event!

The Late-Model HEMI Shootout will be a special “event within an event” at the NMCA’s Reading, PA, motorsport show. The Shootout will attract the fastest supercharged, turbocharged, nitrous-powered and naturally aspirated late-model Challengers, Chargers, Magnums and 300s in the country to compete on a national stage. They will join the NMCA’s already large base of muscle car racers and enthusiasts. Other exciting features of this NMCA event include a huge auto show & shine, a giant manufacturers’ midway/swap meet and a 300+ mph jet dragster!

Four Special Race Classes at the ShopHemi.com Late-Model HEMI Shootout:

Vortech Heads-Up HEMI (Heads-Up, Pro Tree)

Heads-Up HEMI is designed to showcase the fastest late-model HEMIs in the U.S. The fastest eight competitors will stay in the class on move on to Sunday’s eliminations. Any competitors that did not qualify for this class will automatically be entered into the HEMI Rumble class so that they can continue to participate at the Shootout.

These awards will be presented to the two fastest Challengers competing at the Late-Model HEMI Shootout.

Nostalgia HEMI / Wedge Challenge (Open to All Early-Model HEMI / Wedge Powered Chrysler Vehicles):

Older Mopar enthusiasts are invited to participate in the Nostalgia HEMI/Wedge Challenge, where they can win bonus cash and prizes for winning an NMCA class with a traditional HEMI or Wedge engine. Every NMCA event features older muscle cars competing in the Nostalgia Muscle Car, Nostalgia Super Stock, True Street, and Open Comp classes.

Purse: Win one of the cool classes listed above in an older Mopar and the NMCA will double the winner’s purse and give you a cool winner’s jacket!

Buddy Arrington, a Chrysler and Mopar loyalist through and through, competed as an independent owner/driver in the NASCAR Winston Cup series for 25 years from the early "moonshine" years through the 1988 season.
