Stocker driveshaft
The rulebook says "Aluminum driveshaft prohibited except OEM". Does this mean NO aluminum driveshaft if the car did not have an aluminum driveshaft originally? - or does it mean that any car can have an aluminum driveshaft, as long as it is a factory piece, and not an aftermarket piece?

Re: Stocker driveshaft
I always thought this was a BS rule! I got cracked with a nice 3 1/2 inch aluminum years back .My beef was that it was safer then some of those pencil sticks that automatics run !! I would rather chunk a aluminum one then steel.Aluminum is legal for any stocker in IHRA

Re: Stocker driveshaft
So the rules say aluminum driveshafts are prohibited if not OEM.
But how often does Tech check for aluminum driveshafts ?? Or is it just a random check ??? Last edited by John Kelley; 07-05-2009 at 04:56 PM. |

Re: Stocker driveshaft
They slid under a few stockers in D7 last year with a magnet, I do not know what the outcome was.

Re: Stocker driveshaft
Wouldn't it seem reasonable if IHRA/NHRA would cross-reference across the board?
Rodney says: "Can't we all just get along? "

Re: Stocker driveshaft
While I would love to have one too, I think it is pretty clear from NHRA that it your particular car of choice did not have one from the factory, you can't put one in.
