Default QA1 front coil-over suspension

Anybody have any experience with this set-up? I'm guessing that you give up some travel and weight transfer. Would that be preferred for a '90' application?

I'm bracket racing a '79 Malibu(stock control arms) and kind of like the front end to come up more like a stocker or S/Ser. Thanks for any tips and suggestions.

i have qa1 single adjustable coil overs on the cavalier. alston mustang 2 setup. i love them. i can usually adjust the front end lift by the adjustment. I did bust the moutning bushing last year but they sell them seperate and they are very easy to replace. i have qa1 doubles on the back and since i have found the right combo on those and 4 link i haven't had to touch them.

Thanks for the reply Vic. I've had the coil-overs on the car for a couple of years but have only been out once each year. It sits a little higher in the front than I like, even with the spring seats at the lowest possible setting. I'm switching from a SBC to a BBC so the added weight should drop the nose.

One other thing. I tried turning the adjuster knob recently, but it acted like it was 'frozen'. I didn't want to force it and break something. Shouldn't it turn relatively easily and are there some do's and don't's? Such as jacked up with the weight off? As I recall, the only instructions that came with them, dealt with installation only. Anyone got a phone # or website?

Thanks again

Not to be smart, but are you turning it the right direction? sometimes they do get a little stuck depends on how long they have been in that position, and they definitely get harder to turn the tighter you make the valving. I still wouldn't force it though.

I have the QA1 coil over set up on my 10.90 car. They work great. The only problem I've had is shocks went to leaking and had to be replaced. I got 2 seasons out of them. I figured I would've got more than that.
