Aw,,Bob,,,,, I was hoping you'd answer him on this. I've been kicking around the idea of doing one of these engines for a while, but am hesitant because I have 4:88s (Dana 60) and a 29 1/2 tall tire and worry that I would spin it too tight on the top end. Just curious I guess,, oh well, thanks anyway.

I'm guessing your running a glide, what rear gear ,how tall of a tire and your MPH. I'm wondering if my converter is going south...............

Not counting last year ,,,,, I've ran a small block for Quite a while .

I ran 5.00 gears , 1.92 1st gear in the trans , left on the converter every pass @ 5800 RPM and went through
at 7600/7700 ,,,, in super gas Trim the car weighed 2240 and would run 9.900 @ 148/151 depending on air .

It was a 421 with Dart 23 degree heads .

I ran good parts rebuilt engine ( rings, bearings , head gaskets etc... ) every 200 runs !

My 434 in S/St trim 2830 lbs runs 10.90@149-151 depending on the air. Motor turns 7600 with 14.5x 32 and 4.57 gear. Motor makes 830@7400 w/ 676 ft/lbs torque @ 5800. When I first built this motor I ran 4.86 gear and 8" convertor in S/G trim (2600lbs) and went thru @ 8000. I now use 9" conv with the 4.57 gear.
