Hello all.
I'm just wondering what is the best HP that can be gotten out of a full tilt 1968 327/295 HP SS engine? I have heard of several in the 600 to 620 HP area, how high can it go? Any info would be appericated. Thanks Cal SS 1177 |

Dynos vary so much, I don't see you getting valid info here. The two mine has been on are 40 hp apart.

Best thing you can do is not worry about how much HP anyone else has, find out what you have, how fast that makes your car, then use same dyno again and then can tell if made improvements on the dyno anyway, have to test in car to know for sure.
Don't get caught up in big numbers at peaks,go for best average power/torque in rpm range car will use. Mike Taylor 3601 |

Hello again.
Thanks guys, I was just trying to get a feel for what is possible. I know testing is the only true way to figure this out, was just looking for a target HP. Cal SS 1177 |

Like Mike said average hp is key. I would say 600 is a really good peak number to shoot for, but if it makes good average hp in your rpm range it will run well.
