Ok, people, not to dismiss the prestige of a "Best" award but we found out my dad was 2nd place for Best Engineered at our Camaro's debut race at the 1998 Keystone Nationals---it didn't get down the track under power. I don't even think we were in the running for Best Appearing. That went to a car that was painted 3 years earlier. Maybe since the car will be 10 years old next year we'll win an award then.

Let's all put it in a bubble and let it go.

Is that bubble going to be full of helium? If so, I want to inhale it.

Like Mr. VanSloot said, I think some people have lost their sense of humor. My post was directed at the pictures I attached just for a laughs and in continuing the fun from this past weekend. It was not for a certain person or to continue the Etown debate.

I could care less about that award and sleep very well without it. If I had won, it would not have made it onto my Wally shelf. It would have been packed away with Shell's old cheerleading trophies or given to dog as a new bone.

I have to go now. Time to pray to Allah.

Asta

Matt, there is definitely some room for improvement in this particular theory and design, this is whats obvious to me...

This should be the tow vehicle and there needs to be a door added to the back of the camper to house the blazer...then you will be a true cooter JOM...

Wink Re: Engineering At Its Best

Keep it going John!! I only made it through this winter laughing at you?.with you.

Tom won Best Appearing back in 1985 with his Backyard built Firebird, I questioned the bright gold chassis paint, but he swore that was the in thing then. He still has the photos of the body upright against the garage all winter. Every 22 years he gets the impulse to build a different one. He thought it would be cheaper to build his own ?HA HA HA HA?.? It can be far more expensive to build the Backyard Car vs. the Bickle Car. There is the ?Keep the wife occupied all winter? expense, and the ?I missed the deadline? expense, and god forbid your wife is a racer and she has to work in her garden instead of going to the races, expense!! He was going to debut at the Keystones, but feels the S/C Blazer will win hand down?maybe he?ll debut it at Indy.

I enjoy this board?Keeps me going...and I ESPECIALLY Love reading Asta?s posts!!

>>My new heap has the new brake set-up on the rear with 2 calipers on each wheel. I should defininitely be able to get all 4 wheels smoking.<<

Tom was under the car for a week, when he saw me laughing at this one. He should pay more attention to my MPH?s I?m not Fred Flintone?shesh.

Oh and by the way John?you know your going straight to H--- for your posts.

I think they picked the car that would P*** Asta the most....

If they had known he had that double throwdown 4 link setup he would have easily won best engineered....

his car is really nice but it sits a little crooked........I''ll fly out with my scales with Calvin and get you fixed up....

Or we could cut the top off then it will win for sure....

I know....a buddy of mines GTO is sitting here crashed and they cut the roof off to get him out...we put that body on it.....that will get you that plaque for sure.....

I couldn't shut up any longer.....

how about a Gremlin roadster????

P.S. I'm going down the road to Indy.....

thank God Asta can't type much.....

CBS....................I hope I stirred it up good.....

Hey Rock, That 4 link set up is supposed to be the top secret ,guarented to kill the tree !!! .... I can't believe John would let such a trick setup slip out to the general public!.....I'm an AMC guy, but the thought of a Gremlin roadster is too much for me....and yes , I know someone has already built one. ....Tom
