I remember it well since I was honored to have traveled with Hubert for a couple of months after Indy 1969 and was there for the Super Stock photo shoot.

I helped unload the parts display boards and rolled them into the dealerships. I remember Randy Payne saying if they had a traction problem with the Torino he would just slide the seat back.

Up until last year I had an original Drag Team brochure that came with a patch and a membership card. It opened up and had pics of the rigs and a membership application. I had that and some other lightweight and Ford performance catalogs for over thirty years. Someone made me an offer I couldn't refuse and I let them go. Yep, I'm a knucklehead!

There was an excellent book released recently. Full of rare pictures.

I actually have it but haven't read it yet.

Watched Ranry pull the shaft out of stearing column, well not out but apart, on a burn out at York SS meet on Saturday morning. Did not do any damage to anything as not going very fast. But did loose stearing, and did not race that day. He was a big guy, guess he would hold on to the wheel on those burn outs.

Of all the wheels the Drag Team had on their cars I think the chrome reverse with the Cragar center caps look the best. [Jacks photo].
