Re: Attention Nova 350/255 stock combo.
A closed chamber BB Chev and the chamber walls have been hit with either a stone or a cutting tool to unshroud the valves.....both intake and exhaust.
In ancient times we used to use an oversized top cut stone with a flatter angle and cut only the intake chamber wall back some with a smooth radius. Could not get away with that on the exhaust side. Then Bead blast the area and then do what was the accepted and legal VJ of 3 angles and no more than 1/4" larger than valve O.D. top cut. Many BB heads had a smooth area around the intake and it blended into the chamber wall so you could get away with copying that and making it bigger.....unshrouding the valve.... We did heads and blocks for T/K and they went on record holding cars well know in Div. 1 I did numerous sets of LS-6 heads.....from new castings....before the era of welding.....We did epoxy intake runners on SS heads but nothing more than that....

What's a 301 Pontiac? Is that the head casting #?

Re: Attention Nova 350/255 stock combo.
Most combos that can run 1.20 under and are factored at less than 1 HP per cubic inch are under factored.

Re: Attention Nova 350/255 stock combo.
So George what combo do you run? If you use your logic the 350/255 hp motor rated at 280 hp should be rated at 350 hp. That would add about 700 to 800 pounds to most of those that run it. Almost every combo is capable of running 120 under. If you want to spend money and time. Barry

Will any of the AA/S or AA/SA run in the 9.40's?
