Stiff Sidewall tires- Need help
I'm coming up on having to get a new pair of tires for my 1963 corvette roadster. When I pro tree race in NHRA with this car I have .000 in delay box and when I'm IHRA its even worse, cant get anything better then ..040 light with .000 in box.
I want to try the Hoosier Stiff sidewall tire but want to know how much (if anything) that might help with getting some reaction time. Also how are these tires for hook when your not running the throttle stop? I also Bracket race this vette without the stop occasionally and wasn't sure how stiff sidewalls react to that. I'm currently running a Hoosier 33x15 tire, and because of pricing the only other tire I would consider is a M/T maybe... Any info on this subject would be great. Thanks, Andrew Stirk |

I run the Mickey Thompson 3074s. Works great on the stop as well as bracket racing.

I have the stiff sidewall Hoosier and they work great. I also run without the stop to bracket race. 7.90's @172 . I put bead locks on the car also
