KELSON & KELSON STOCK/SUPERSTOCK SERIES - RACE 5 REPORT
Cape Breton Dragway NHRA National Open, August 9, 2024
Race Sponsor: Atlantic Turbo (Alan Harper)

After a very brief pause in the racing action our Stock/SuperStock racers converged on Cape Breton Dragway for the John Scotti Canadian National Open Series there and the next two races of the ACSSA 2024 season. The tough racing in Miramichi and the tight turnaround between the two Opens resulted in breakage and a few cars not being able to attend Cape Breton, but 21 cars still made the call. The weather was still warm but not as extreme as the weekend before, with temperatures in the low 80s, a DA varying from 1200-1800', and Water Grains at 60+. After Qualifying concluded Guy Desjardins was once again at the top in his 1967 Camaro at -0.943 under his Index for the 1/8th mile.
When the tire smoke cleared, Wendell Howes stood in the Winners Circle holding the Wally, and Dave Garland took the Runner-Up honours. Congrats!
