Default Re: Lvd this coming weekend

Thanks Wayne for posting those details, very much appreciated!

I've gotten multiple PMs with some questions about this weekend so here is my attempt to summarize as much information as possible

Parking
  • As Wayne mentioned above, entry on Friday is possible. Lebanon Valley has racing programs going on so we need to be courteous of that. If you get there before 7pm on Friday, you will have to pay the spectator fee to enter.
  • Sunday is one of the track's bigger payout points days so the weekly racers will be there in their normal pit spots. Racers coming should be cognizant of that and be respectful that those racers support the track every week and that ASRA racers are there only a handful of times a year. We need to be courteous to one another as we are all there do to what we love.
  • In order to leave your rig for the Divisional the following week, you do have to pre-pay the divisional entry ahead of time. This can be done by visiting the 1st floor of the tower. Sue Bell does a great job coordinating this and is always very helpful in answering any questions. The track typically makes routine announcements during the course of the day as reminders.

Races
  • There at two separate ASRA races this weekend. One on Saturday and one on Sunday.
  • The Saturday race is a normal ASRA race. Please keep in mind that the Circle Track at Lebanon Valley has racing on Saturday nights so once they start, the drag strip has to stop. Racing usually stops sometime between 5pm and 6pm so it requires racers to be diligent in getting to the lanes when called and pairing up quickly.
  • The Sunday race is an ASRA race with the addition of the LeBrun and Peters Memorial Payout. It looks to be a full day of racing so action will continue late into the evening in an effort to get everything completed.

Entry Fees
  • Entry fee for Saturday is $55 at the track gate. This is to participate in the ASRA race and you are eligible for the track portion of the payout.
  • Entry fee for Sunday is $55 at the track gate. This is to participate in the ASRA/Memorial race and you are eligible for the track potion of the payout as well as the Memorial payout.
  • ASRA Membership dues are $350 and are paid to one of the ASRA board of directors. This membership fee is what makes a racer eligible for the ASRA payout and other specialty awards that are only available to members.

Other general stuff
  • When you pay your entry, you will receive a tech card. There are tech officials at the entry gate so you can get your car teched at arrival (they'll do it right in the trailer). Tech also moves to the back of staging so you can catch them there if you don't do it at the entry gate.
  • Saturday evening is our annual ASRA picnic that we do at the Gazebo behind the track tower. Everyone and their families are welcome to join. Burgers, Dogs, Soda, and Water are provided. Any side dishes that people are willing to bring is always greatly appreciated. Always a great time to get together as a group of class racers.

In a previous post, some details of the race were already outlined and that can be viewed HERE

If I've made any errors in my comments, please let me know so they can be corrected. I haven't raced at LVD this year so there could be some things I'm forgetting.

Also, please don't hesitate to ask any additional questions as we recognize that there are a lot of racers coming to participate at an ASRA race at LVD that have never been before. As members that have done this for years, we become blind to things that we are so used to but may not be intuitive if you've never been before.

Hopefully it is helpful.

Thanks!
