Aluminum Hemi "Replacement" Heads +10HP
I see NHRA gave the Hemi racers a late Christmas bonus by adding HP if you run the aluminum heads. I know they give the aluminum heads more intake volume (198cc) vs. the iron heads (189cc), but less exhaust port volume. Do the aluminum heads actually make more HP?
I think Billy Nees was behind this. LOL! Just kidding Billy.

Re: Aluminum Hemi "Replacement" Heads +10HP
The 110M head is a legal replacement head for all the 426 hemis except the 1968 SS/AH cars. We have requested to NHRA for this head to be made legal, but get turned down every year. If you have never lifted a loaded 426 hemi head, think of picking up a bare small block.

Re: Aluminum Hemi "Replacement" Heads +10HP
Yes I have. I shipped some MP cast iron heads to MCH for CNC porting a number of years ago. I dropped the heads with valves, springs, retainers, etc. off at my engine builders shop a year ago and Robert was carrying one into his shop and his first comment was that I needed aluminum heads. Bob at MCH has my aluminum heads for a SS porting treatment. I've been waiting for about 9 months and wonder what the gestation period is for SS Hemi heads? Anyway, NHRA has changed the HP on the 1964 Hemi's and the Street Hemi's. It was the same HP prior to 1/1/17. I thought maybe someone went out and ran fast to get the hit. I guess that is not the case.
