Unless something has changed the MX classes are the only ones you can run a dry sump in. Fuels, there is an accepted list on NHRA's site I believe.

Dwight is right. Get a rule book. Dry sump permitted in SS/MX only. Fuel options and restrictions. Plan, plan, and plan some more. Good luck.

Either an internal wet-sump oil pump or an external, single-stage oil pump is all that is allowed.

Modified Stock (SS/CS) or Modified (SS/CM)? Lotta stuff down there past GT/.

All those classes follow SS rules with exceptions listed separately in the book.

Dry sump is allowed in SS/ES, SS/FS and SS/GS which are 4 cylinder classes.

Read the rules line by line and ask questions. Best suggestion is to find a racer running your engine build in your chosen category. That will take a lot of the guesswork out of the process for you.

Unless it has changed just recently ES, FS,and GS are only allowed single stage external pumps...since we no longer get a rule book as part of the membership I'd have to look online.

This is from my copy of the 2017 book. It's the Modified Stock section. Modified doesn't mention the dry sump part.

"OIL PUMP
External single-stage oil pump permitted.
OIL SYSTEM
Dry-sump system allowed in ES, FS, and GS."
