Stock Class Chassis Rules
Have the chassis rules been loosened in stock Elim. I see a number of cars, especially 66-67 Novas, with tires I am sure do not fit in stock wheel wells?

Re: Stock Class Chassis Rules
Ingenuity and a BFH...(Big Fricken Hammer) , was what it took to fit those 9 X 30 slicks on a 66 nova....that and the fact that I have never seen a tech man measure a rear end housing in a Stocker.....LOL....

Re: Stock Class Chassis Rules
Rules haven't changed. Enforcement has.
Yes ,you can still trim the inner flange away. You can legally stretch the front and rear opening..(safety, don't ya' know), and as MJ said, some judicious work with the Ford tool on the wheel wells, has been going on forever. But I have to say , some of the stuff I've seen lately, back a generation ago, Marty Barrett, Greg X, or Wesley would have bounced you so hard and fast, your azz would be on fire. So, welcome to the new NHRA and Bracket II.

Re: Stock Class Chassis Rules
I think you might care when after you push the rules too far and finally a Tech guy bounces you. Then of course you would be pissed and tell everyone how much of a prick he was to you when after all he is just doing is job. Reminds me of when almost every SS Hemi guy had the sides of their blocks machined off for weight savings and almost never got to run at Indy.

Re: Stock Class Chassis Rules
More of an SS thing but have you noticed how low to the ground some of the SS cars are when you know that the driveshaft tunnel and frame area over the rearend wouldn't remotely allow it? There were photos on Class Racer in the build section a while back of a car being built that clearly showed those area being replaced with new fabricated sheet metal. I thought it was a nostalgia car (not a legal SS chassis) so shrugged it off, it showed up as a legal SS car not long after that and even won best engineered car, go figure.

Re: Stock Class Chassis Rules
I have seen several "STOCKERS" with mini tubs and moved springs.
