helmet ???

all kidding aside what helmets are known to be manufactured in the US???????---time for a new one and there are stories floating around about "russian/chinese etc." helmets $10 helmets and EBAY super special deals---All helmets have to be a either a SNELL SA2005 or SA2010 rated helmet---If the helmet passes the Snell ratings what difference does it make where its made ALONG AS IT IS NOT BEING LABELED FRAUDENTLY!!!! Now we all know certain companies attached certification labels to their products as being certified when in fact they were not!!!! Just what guaranty other than the manufacurers word that the helmet is in fact a SA2005 or SA2010 certified helmet???
Now what companies are for sure US made helmets??? Thanx Comp

Any Simpson that is hat sized (7 5/8, 7, etc) are US made. The ones that are S,M,L,XL are imported.

thanx chad for the reply interesting to know I did not know that the "generic" sizes( S-M-L) were not US made only the hat sizes were ------ any others out there??? Comp

there are SOME, but not consistent enough for me to be able to tell you which ones. Impact MAY be, but I'm not a fan of those for obvious reasons

I just purchased a Mastercraft/Impact 1320 helmet (SA2010) and it is made in the US and in the middle of the road on price. Very light and well constructed compared with the HJC (M2000) that it replaced.

I researched this a couple weeks ago and could only come up with simpson and impact as U.S made. Helmet city, Jegs and Summit all had comparable pricing on the SA helmets. You may be able to find a decent price on ebay also, The ones I bid on all went for pretty high prices. The claim that my HJC is counterfiet is purely conjecture. HJC claims that they are ranked #1 in the world on the website and they have SA helmets also. If you want a U.S made helmet I believe Simpson is your only choice. Happy shopping

Simpson FR Bandit, FR Cruiser and the Voyager is imported, all other 15 models of Simpson Auto (FR) Helmets are US made, including the Carbon helmets in XS, S, M, L and XXL size.
