What could possibly constitute an illegal lifter as long as it has some travel? They do check lift with a solid, right?

Nobody's posted in this thread for a while. But I was wondering if anybody knows what the difference is between the Comp Cams 875-16 reduced travel Hyd roller lifter and the Comp Cams 15850-16 short travel Hyd roller lifter? If you read the descriptions they are the same and fit the same engines. Except that one is 10 grams heavier, .06 difference in seat height and twice the price. There has got to be more to it than that but their site does not say what it is. Too late to call Comp tonight but I was wondering if anybody on here knows.

Interesting as Im working on getting all the pieces for a 307 oldsmobile motor and looking into what roller hydraulic to use. Im sure Im staying with the small diameter .842 unless someone has better ideas of want would work cheaper and easier.

I had Bullet hydraulic roller lifters in my LT-1 stocker. They had about .015" travel as I recall. They may have been made by Morell, I don't know, but had Bullet etched on them. They were about the same cost as std solid rollers out there today. Woodro Josey sold me those along with numerous other parts on that engine build....

They were excellent parts and trouble free to any rpm....
