Default TNTSS Race of Champions returns for 2012!

Canadian performance industry icon supports grass roots drag racers

With the inaugural Race of Champions (ROC) last year in the Joe's Transmission TNT Super Series drawing so much attention from sportsman racers across the northeast, the series is very pleased to announce the return of the ROC in 2012.

Performance Improvements Speed Shops of Toronto (PI) will present the 2012 Race of Champions and TNTSS officials couldn't be more excited.

"PI has been involved in all kinds of motorsports during their almost 50 years in the performance parts business," said Ted Barnes, TNTSS Director of Operations. "To have them on board with our premiere event for the 2012 season is a perfect fit!"

PI is undergoing a huge transition in 2012, moving their flagship store from its long time location on the Queensway in Toronto a mere 4 traffic lights north to a 22,000 square foot building at 87 Advance Road. Their new building will encompass a 5000 square foot showroom, improved warehousing facilities and much more.

The Performance Improvements TNTSS Race of Champions will be held at Cayuga Dragway of Toronto Motorsports Park on Saturday September 1st during the Labour Day Weekend festivities with the winner receiving a prize package valued at over $1500.00.

Jon Jablonski of West Seneca, New York took the ROC in its first year back in 2011. Jablonski has been a supporter of the TNTSS since it began in 2006 and is the 2010 IHRA Division One Super Rod Champion.

Making the ROC unique is the fact that it has the highest purse of any TNTSS event and there is NO ENTRY FEE. You must WIN TO GET IN. Any TNTSS event winner since 2006 or any past series champion is eligible to enter the ROC.

Ted added that the event features no on-track qualifying. "The field is set based on the number of event wins a competitor has. Then to break any ties, we look at the most runner-ups and finally, total TNTSS points."

What makes the Performance Improvements TNTSS Race of Champions so popular for so many racers is that it only takes one event win to get in....and then you can take it all.
