HM,,, interesting photo here,,,not sure about the "Hot Sheet", but as I'm holding my June '68 issue in my hand and using a magnifying glass, I see the second line under the red H visible appears to be the designation BO29, and the next line under that has been blacked out and the wording Sox & Martin appears substituted in. The wording in the 1st and last line I can't make out, but the 1st line is someone's name, and it almost (to me), looks like the bottom line says: Thank You V.J. Whoever that is.
The action in the photo obviously is staged, as theres a whole lot of nothing going on here. Theres a speed wrench on the cowl, yet Buddy is spinning one in the spark plug hole. One of the Holley carbs is loose, sitting on a rag and Ronnie appears half asleep staring at it. Nice job of "Product Placement" with the Fram filter AND box, labels up, on the radiator support, the Valvoline racing motor oil can, and the Hurst box on the floor with a mount and a white shift knob in the plastic bag in plain view. I'm assuming the other gentleman in the shot is Jake King.Curiously, I see theres some kind of smudge on the back of Buddy's right leg that I thought was a defect on my cover until I look at your photo and there it is again. I'm a little surprised to see the windshield wiper motor still in the car, perhaps it was required at the time.
Cool thread here, keep it going.

Sox & Martin won the A/MP class at the 1969 NHRA Winternationals,
with this BO29.

Danny thanks for the analysis on the magazine cover...and yes the photo shoot was obviously a staged one, Ronnie looks like he's ready to fall asleep and all those parts placed just right for advertising purposes...I do find it odd though that they left the 'hot sheet' on the front windshield of the car for the photo shoot, I thought they would have thrown it away or file it away somewhere in the office...also if the racers had to pick up the cars at the Hurst factory, whose name was on there or who signed off on it...questions-questions.

Sox & Martin SS/B

1968 NHRA Springnationals @ Englishtown

Super Stock Eliminator vs. Barrie Poole (First Round)

Snapped the GoodYear slick off the Keystone rim.

If you look close, you can see that this BO29 has a wide white stripe
on the roof and trunk deck-lid.

A little trivia, can an anyone spot the differences between the two '68 Hemi Cuda's Sox & Martin raced...how do you tell them apart from all the photo's posted on them in the various threads posted here in the forums, other than their class #.

Some show his "Ronnie Sox" name on the door.
