Sounds like it was this Burgundy '69 COPO Camaro...but the description says it was a 'no sale'. I don't have anymore info about the car, maybe someone else here knows something else, or has some old pics of it still in it's 'war paint'.

Quote:
The extraordinary car presented here is unique in several ways. It was the first 1969 COPO 9561 Camaro sold in the Northeastern U.S., and was purchased new by drag racer Moe Delage from well-known performance dealer Scuncio Chevrolet in Greenville, Rhode Island. Equipped with an iron block 427/425 HP big block, it bore equipment common to many COPO cars, including front and rear spoilers, radio delete, special BE 4.10 rear end, curved neck radiator and cowl induction. But unlike most COPO Camaros, it was also optioned with Rally wheels, rosewood steering wheel, D55 console with U17 Special Instruments and Endura front bumper, and was one of only two painted in Burgundy.

Delage immediately had the car painted Root Beer Metalflake with lace accents, and installed a set of aluminum heads from Scuncio performance manager Bob Johnson, whose Bob Johnson’s Racing Enterprises sponsored the car as it did so many others on the Northeast drag circuit. Known as "Moe’s Ridge Runner” and also sponsored by Deb’s Speed Shop, the car terrorized the competition in A/Modified Production.

Today the car is in spectacular condition after having been restored in 2004 -05, and has just been repainted by a superb craftsman with years of experienced in rendering showroom finishes. It shows just 3,884 miles, which is believed to be an accurate reading, and has been detailed to exacting standards to Concours condition, with exactly correct finishes, numbers and markings throughout.

A high profile car in the COPO community with complete owner history, Certificate of Authenticity from Scuncio and Johnson, and listed in the COPO Registry, this famous and extremely rare COPO Camaro is an excellent opportunity for Camaro collectors everywhere.

Highlights:

- Factory 427/425 HP 4-speed with dealer-installed aluminum heads supplied by Bob Johnson
- 3,884 believed to be original miles
- 1 of just 2 known COPO Camaros to come from the factory in rare Code 67 Burgundy paint
- Original trim tag
- Mostly original sheet metal
- Many unique COPO features: Rally wheels, console with gauges, and radio delete; Other options: front and rear spoilers, Endura bumper, correct "BE" rear end, curved neck radiator and cowl induction
- Completely documented with owner history, original owner is still available
- Vintage pictures
- Listed in COPO Registry
- Certificate of Authenticity from Scuncio/Bob Johnson
- Well known car in the super car community.
- Rare opportunity to own an extremely rare COPO Camaro purchased new from one of the famous top high-performance dealers from the 60's era.

That's a nice shot of Moe Delage's '69 Camaro 'Ridge Runner'...I also understand that there was also another Camaro that ran under the same name but different driver, is there any connection.

ralph ridgeway was the first to use the name. moe probably adopted it through his ties with debs and ralph.

I remember Carl working on the mold @ Deb's, I believe it was the one made for street use not as hi as the race model. Years later went to an auction @ a fiberglass shop, made Dunebuggy's and the mold for the hood scoop was sold! Shop I think was out in Munson MA.
