One big problem with all these combos ,as I see it.

NHRA doesn't seem to care much for the lower class cars. Neither do the higher class guys. So , they got together and voted out > Deep Staging<.

In the September issue of Hemmings Muscle Machines Magazine there is a great write up on a 1971 Cobra jet 429 Torino Squire 370hp at 3,583lbs 9.68pds where would this one land? h/sa

Wow! a new Camaro weight is greater than a Torino Station wagon. Great, will never see a Camaro in Stock.lol This is what you get when you get engineers from Australia do a retro design on an automobile they've never seen in their lifetime. My kids for Fathers Day rented for me a Challenger which I really loved driving plus it looks great.(sorry for taking this in the wrong direction)lol CR

Does that mean the Camaro would be a good candidate for a demo derby?
(I didn't mention the Challenger because I'm a Mopar guy.)

Yes look's like it would Myron but you would have to have deep pockets or a wife driving the Camaro at a derby after she's found out you've just left with her best friend to the Bahamas.lol Claude

Claude,
Ya know I've gotta defend me country men ! Ya can't buy one in Oz and it's built to USA specs, just like the factory Mustangs and Challengers, from the dealer they are that heavy too don't forget.

Have ya seen some of the stuff that they're building in Oz at present ???

You'd be really impressed, rear wheel drive, street car rockets. Comes in a sedan and a UTE, made by Holden, aussie for GM. Catch the Top Gear episode where they test 'em both and tell me you wouldn't want one of those.

Not suprisingly, Oz has turned out some really cool muscle cars in the past as well and they are still allowed to do so with all of the government restrictions that they must meet ( way worse than the US)

Now thats a part breaker.[/QUOTE)

Phil Pierce from Ohio ran one of those about 10 yrs. ago in Div. 3. in D/SA. Pretty cool race car, but REALLY heavy.

Bernie sorry for picking on Australians and I'm sure they have a first class design center for GM but did you guys have the first generation over there, I know you could probably order one but the Holdens were kings. I was hoping that GM would have been closer in design than they actually ended with. I've own many of the first and tried a new one and have problems with it, but didn't realize how heavy they were. Sorry for venting my dissapointement.lol Claude

Someone ran one of these in division 3 in the late 70's or early 80's car was white and used a GM Quadrajet
