One car that I owned that wasn't the heavyweight that I thought it would be was a 1968 Plymouth Fury III 2dr Fast Top with the 440/350. Turns out it would only be 3670# w/driver in E/SA.

Luckily the 265 caprice 200/230 is only just hitting 3850 currently. Could be 4310 in R

Back during my Dover Drag Strip days in the early 70’s I remember Joe’s brother, Lance DeMarzo running a ‘69 Impala 2 dr. Custom in R/SA with a 327/235 2V motor. With today’s rules would this be a viable combo ? Could fall into T too.

Yes, @ 210 hp. It makes a nice and easy GT engine too. It uses the 68 327 4v heads. There ought to be plenty around, already done up.
It doesn't get the biggest 2 bbl though., like the 350..Neither does the 396.

Bob! you could do one of these 327/235/210 combos for your wagon and run U at only 4370!

73/74 Chevelle and Laguna, with 454/235 factored at 365, 4370 in H, 4550 in I. Even the 73/74 Vette with the 454 is pretty chubby, 3640 in D or 3820 in E.
