Help on a car value?
Hello All
I hope this is ok... This is not a for sale thread! My Father-in-law passed last year and left my wife and I his cars. We are keeping two but don't have room for the 3ed. He had put a bit into it from when he bought it. He did new seats and a new top. The Car is a 1965 ford Galaxie 500 convertible. It has a 352 and an Auto trans. The Motor was rebuilt in 2003 and has about 20,000 miles on it sense. The body is in good shape except a few spots and over the rear driver wheel needs work. My buddy that does auto body suggests I leave it be so the new owner knows what they are getting into. Or should I get it fixed? Here are some pictures. I'm not a Ford guy at all and have not found anything close to this for sale local. I know you guys here know better then anyone. Anyone give me any idea what to ask or the best way to prep it for sale? The car is kept in inside a garage now. I'm 6'8" tall and fit in this guy awesome, wish they still made cars this big! Thanks for your help in advance!!!

Re: Help on a car value?
So no one has an idea on a value?
He has a couple Mustangs that are staying in the family so something had to go, this being it. Anyone have good starting point?

Re: Help on a car value?
not sure what the overall condition of the car is but $8-13000 as is might be a reasonable value and maybe more if it is "repaired"--looks like a good candidate for a good summer driver nothing special in equipment but nice colors Red/Black---don't know how bad you want to get rid of it but look at maybe Craigslist or Ebay to get a ballpark figure on what these sell for---FED 387

Re: Help on a car value?
I think a lot would depend on how prevalent the rust is. I wouldn't buy it without putting it on a lift and looking carefully. If it's really rusty I would stay away because it might cost more to restore than it would be worth.
