Default alum. front hubs?

was at a friends house, and he has a pair of alum. front hubs for a '56 Chevy. I remember years ago that NHRA banned them. I think the early ones were unsafe. however these look to be billet. would be nice on my '56.
these are new and look very nice.
what type of non-distructive testing can be done to make sure they are OK?
thanks Rod in AZ
