Some additional details on the Shoot Out Sponsored by Ultimate Converters:

New England Dragway is graciously willing to try and squeeze this race in on Saturday evening. It will undoubtedly turn into a rather hectic afternoon. We thank everyone for their patience and cooperation in advance. Getting paired up quickly and pulling up in the staging lanes will go a long way in facilitating activities later in the day.

We will do our best to update the points after each round of the main race to keep perspective of who still has a chance to qualify for the shoot out. New England Dragway has asked if we would consider starting the SO ahead of completing the main race. This will only happen if all SO qualifiers have been eliminated from the main race. This is an unlikely scenario, but wanted to share that it could happen.

ASRA also wanted to share that our primary goal is to get the shoot out completed this weekend to avoid racers from needing to return another weekend. This might mean running some rounds on Saturday and then some rounds on Sunday (possibly even during Sunday Time Trials). A lot of decisions will be made in the moments based on time, weather, etc.

Looking forward to a great weekend of racing to wrap up the 2023 season!

Thanks!

Congratulations to Bob Broadbent on shifting his way to the winner's circle at ASRA race 5 today! He defeated first time finalist Brady Jezewski driving Brad Rose's camaro tuned by Vic Santos. Congrats to Bob and Brady. Tom Boucher was the lone semifinalist.

We had some down time due to rain drops and completed 1 round of the shoot out before a steady mist had us stop for the night. We'll pick up racing action tomorrow in our final race of the season as we look to crown the 2023 champion.

The 2023 ASRA season came to a close on Sunday at New England Dragway with a solid turnout of 53 racers. Gregg Sutherland stood tall at the end of the day taking his beautiful nova to victory lane! Congrats to the entire Sutherland clan. Henry Specht was runner up in his killer '69 Camaro. Ethan Sutherland and Tim Stickles were the semifinalists.

The $100 gift certificates from Eastern VP for the top 4 point earners over the two days were Gregg Sutherland, Bob Broadbent, Brady Jezewski, and Henry Specht. Congrats!

The 2023 shootout presented by Ultimate Converters was completed on Sunday as well. Eliminations were completed over the course of two days and squeezed in where possible. Big shout out to New England Dragway and the shoot out qualifiers on being flexible so we could get this completed. When all was said and done, Todd Bednaz came out on top over Jim Whitehead. Congrats to Todd on winning his 3rd shoot-out. The semi-finalists were TJ Boucher and Bill Pomponi.
