It's Raining...what to do?
It's a wash-out in Gainesville....most of us have a favorite time waster or a specific task that occupies the time on days when the event is on "weather hold".
Let's hear a few of your best.

Hookers ?
No seriously though, I carry hobbies (usually a camera with me to work on or other things, hell run down to the Toy Store and buy a couple cans of spray paint and a Model of your car ? How long has it been since you built a Model ? When done give it to your kids, or a kid "fan" or someone looking at your ride, you can make 2 people happy for the price of 1 , you get something to do and they get a shiny new "bauble" kids love new stuff and I PROMISE they will NEVER forget you. Just an idea.....

At the Gators, go to Big Daddy's museum if you haven't been there in a while,
or go to Daytona ( bike week was last week and some schools have started their spring break ) for the younger group. Hit the Brown Derby,Steak and Shake and Sonny's BBQ. Not all in one day though. Greg Schenck |

Yes, plese go to Sonny's and tell me how good it was. The garlic bread, pulled pork, tea ... oh my! I've eaten at Sonny's 3 or 4 times in a row when I get to Mooresville or Commerce. I've broken up with girlfriends before that wouldn't eat there with me. Oh, how I miss it. Wish they had one in Texas.

"In January 1995, a fire destroyed 10,000 of the building's 14,000 square feet. Investigators said arson was the cause, although who set it remains a mystery. The building, its stone facade charred, sat empty for years. Eventually it was rebuilt and in 2000 opened as the Hoda Center, one of Gainesville's two Islamic centers." I guess you could still go there and hang out. |

At Maple Grove, you can always go to Park Place Restaurant/Finish Line Pub across the street during a delayed/cancelled day.
