Which slicks for a stick car??
My buddy has a 1967 Barracuda Noch with 360/4 speed/8-3/4 w/4:10's
motor has 11:50 to 1 compression Edelbrock heads, air-gap intake and Holley 750 carb. ITT headers and exhaust, Cal-tracks with with Chyrsler spings at this point. Car weights about 3500 with driver. On dyno car makes 380 HP to rear tires. On MT street drag radials car with 1/8th mile 8.0's at about 94 MPH. tires are 275/60/15 run at 15-16 pounds. Called MT tire rep and he says MT street radials will not work with a stick car. So what brand, size drag slick do the stick racers recommend?? Open to opinions and comments

Re: Which slicks for a stick car??
Definately 3056st MT. I would ask for the shortest tire in that size. The rollout can vary. Try to get something as short as possible. They can vary, but the tire vendor can check their stock for a smaller rollout set.

Re: Which slicks for a stick car??
What's special about the M/T 3056? How's it compare to a Hoosier 30x9 bias? Is the D07 the harder compound? Why would you want the shorter/less roll out tire? That goes against the more roll out the more conatact patch rule of thought? Sorry for the thread highjack! But I've been pondering same question.

Re: Which slicks for a stick car??
The M/T's they are talking about have a stiff sidewall. I do not know how they compare to the Hossiers you mention.
They are suggesting a short roll-out because of the 4.10 gears.

Re: Which slicks for a stick car??
Thanks for the information & feedback.
He is also building another 67 Noch, stroked 318 with a Pro Charger 5 speed stick and a Dana, Oh and full roll cage. He has a 1968 Barracuda Convertable Red/white nice body and interior, no motor or trans a roller for sale.
