Steve is a very formidable foe and drives real well. He is always fun to race. His daytime job is making power, his hobby is making lots of power.

Scott Gove and John Gray run real well, maybe they can shed some light. Jimmy D runs well when pushed.

Actually the question is, figuring out your budget, the higher that is, the more your options will be. And if the skys the limit, and you want to be a big player, it will come down to less than you think.

Mr. Dano, let me help you out here. The first order of BUSINESS is contacting all your fellow competitors that run the same combination. Get everyone to agree to slow their car down in order to MANIPULATE the class averages. It’s always nice to get a HP reduction when NHRA opens the WELFARE line. Don’t be ashamed, almost everyone does it.

So an example would be a 375hp aluminum headed 396" Big Block rated at 405hp by NHRA with an auto transmission should be: 1.45 x 405 = 587hp. Start getting over that and you'll be more and more competitive.Bad boys are probably in the 645hp range.
Mike if you have only 587 you would be in trouble running most of the fast A an B cars. Not that I would know but I would guess your second number of 645 would be in the ball park. Barry

MJ That combo will have never have any HP taken off of it. To many fast ones and too many A an B cars that they will run against in eliminations. It's to bad that is a tough HP rating.

I thought by now one of the fast 396 cars would have hit the 1.20 trigger. I believe it will only be a matter of time. To many of them and again there are a lot of fast A an B cars. I was hoping that John or Scott would play in A or B for a while. The AA has a tough index. How fast do you think the 2015 COPO's. I was hoping to find out at the baby Gators Barry

Would I be off base if I believe the best 1969 396/375 Camaros that run aluminum heads and are able to run better than -1.20 (and they can) are making north of 700 HP?
Do the math.
