1965 Impala BBC Stocker Update
Since my original Thread got "highjacked" by a lot of non-pertaining bull, here is an update. One of the reasons why i started this thread was 10 years ago when I first built my 68 Impala stocker I was told by a lot of people not to do it because it was a "parts breaker"
I made over 100 passes in that Stick Shift 4095 lb and only broke once, and that was a set of 4:88's on the 19th pass and the reason why they were street gears and not Pro Gears which i put in and are still in that rear. Also told a big car, big cube combo is not as good as a light car, small cube (small block Camaro's make up a bulk of H & I Stock) but I did run 7-8 tenths under. Here are updated photos. Starting body work with 1/4 panels and new trunk floor. Need something to put battery and fuel cell on!

Here is gusset work started on the frame. This is how a big chevy lives without part breakage. The rear upper control arms crossmember is the most important to fix. The rear tends to pull them out if not strengthen.

Thanks, Wil
How about a similar setup on the uppers, after re-welding of course ? Love those big cars too. I started out racing Stock with a 63 Grand Prix, 421 /370 tri-power..4.56's Right to the floor..6 grand on the line ... even with tires from the 60's
