Default Driving stock LS water pump on test stand

Getting ready to mount an LS on test stand and was wondering if anyone has seen or made a drive to run the stock pump independently. I have seen all the electric pumps and have used the BBC pump with adapters on a car but am just looking to run the pump when the engine is off. GPM not important just need to move some water. Ideas?

Not an LS but a stock belt driven water pump. Helped a friend break in a motor. Instead of waiting and waiting for it to cool off I just loosened alternator pulled belt up tight to a cordless drill and circulated the water with belt on the chuck. Got some laughs until he saw that it worked.

Thanks Jody. I am sure there was a few laughs but it worked. The WP pulley on an LS is smooth (ie. no v-groove, no serpentine) as it runs off of the back (smooth side) of the serpentine. And the pump runs counter-clockwise. Thanks, Bill

I geared up a couple hose adapters and just feed water through from the garden hose on my stand. just be sure to remove the thermostat.

Hello, first post I know...but I have learned so much from this site, thanks.
I use the Moroso 63750 water pump drive kit.
Just needed to purchase a longer belt and added one flat washer.
Belt number I used is 240L

Well there is a solution right next door in Alberta. Swansonic do you recall the application for that water pump (car, truck, suv/ year?) Looks way different than the truck one I am working with. Maybe a casting number. Thanks, Bill

I was told it came out of a 2004 pickup, I made the alternator mount and did water pump mod when I had it on my run stand. I have a hard time spending money on things I can mod, I treat it as a challenge.
