I have stayed at the Candlewood Suites in Colonial Heights...as well as I believe it was a Hampton in in Fort Lee. Both were fine choices. The Candlewood had a full kitchen.

Either area has many acceptable options. Just plan on 15-20 minute drive to the track.

And a stop at Guiseppe's Restaurant near the track in Dinwiddie is a must.

years ago we stayed on exit 45 that had a pumpkins restuarant dont know if they are still there but it was nice not alot of traffic and alot safer than close to town

There's also a Hampton Inn and a Holiday Inn Express at Colonial Heights.
