Good morning Greg and to all,
I believe Flaming River builds & sells steering box's , Vega style - you might want to try contacting them. I know they used to sell parts through Jegs and could be another outlet to try.
Hope that helps.
Have a Good Day.

Respectfully,

Speedway has two styles. A straight and a bent one. Not sure if they work for A body

Hi Henry, I purchased the following parts from Flaming River
1- FR1500 Steering Box $560.00
1-FR 1722 Upper joint $102.50
1-FR 1715 Lower Joint $100.50
1- FR 1850-22 Steering Shaft $90.00

Total Spent $860.00

Tech Department at Flaming River wasn't much help, They told me my existing "Pitman arm" would work!

Not even close!
Thanks for the Reply!

Greg... Contact Rare Parts Steering and Suspension in Stockton, CA. They will "steer" you in the right direction. MB

Is the shaft for the pitman arm smaller than the hole in the pitman arm? I used an S10 box on my 85 F body and pitman arm worked. You might need an arm from a manual steering Chevelle.

Thumbs down Re: Vega Pitman arm for GM”A” body

UPDATE: B/SA Bob Moran "modified" a new "Straight" Vega Pitman Arm, and a "used" pitman arm from a Monza to make it fit.

Furthermore the upper "DD" Joint that was sugested to purchase was the wrong size!

fortunately for us, Milt @"Westgate Performance" in Freetown MA. had what we needed "IN STOCK" in order to complete the installation........

Sounds like a huge PITA to lose a few pounds.
