Default Dedenbaer TS-6 Disc style stop

Feedback good or bad on using the DedenbearTS-6 Disc style plate stop?

I have used the std style in the past and wondered if the disc type was producing good results for anyone.....I like the idea of nothing blocking the carb when it is wide open but don't know how well it works when activated......

I have 2 Dedenbear disc stops if you would like to try one. I have heard different results. I believe it depends on your motor combination. Your more than welcome to try one.

I have been using an inline for years on 2 different cars. Had injection so I had no choice as to what type of stop to use. I have switched back to a carb. Still have the inline and plan to stay with it.....but have been considering going back to a plate if I have no luck with the inline.....I found a couple for sale pretty reasonable and thought I might buy one just in case I switch down the road....

It's winter and months before I can try what I have...

I have run one for the last three years. Was Div R/U 2012 and Champ in 2013 with it. Seems to work ok for me.

In theory, It would seem to be the way to go. That being said, I do believe it depends on your combo. I had one on my dragster and had a 1stop 4 blade on my super gas car. I never tried the 1stop on my dragster, but I did try the disc stop on my super gas car. I lost nearly 3 mph with it and gained it right back with the 1 stop back on. My super gas car makes pretty good power as I 've been 174 mph on a 9.90 before. My thought was it had something to do with the signal to the carb as to where my mph went when I tried the disc stop.

Really does not make sense that it would lose 3 mph but the et slips don't lie. Both stops are essentially 4 hole spacers and the one with no obstruction should be faster.

I would have to guess that it had more to do with fuel distribution and the air speed entering the intake was better when it was turbulent with the std plate. Maybe the fuel was atomized better and it showed up as a MPH gain.....

My car has run 8.90 at 177-178+ with injection.....so that is what I would use for a comparison. I expect to lose some MPH but hope it will not be much. Maybe I will be lucky and a gas carb will run with injection.


I bought the TS-6 I was looking at....

Cost would be the main reason plus I see no reason to make it more complicated.

I did look into the APD carb with the stop built right on the carb....pretty pricey item also....

I see they stepped up and are now an NHRA sponsor for it.

I have not run an NHRA national event since 2001 and don't really chase the division races either that hard.....

Maybe this year I will make a bigger effort if I can get a "program" going.

My S/C racing the last few years has produced zero positive results....

I don't know Rich, but when I went from an in-line set up to a #1 Stop set up, I lost 2 to 3 mph.. probably caused by my combination not liking the carb lifted almost 2 inches off the manifold, and all the stuff hanging out below the venturis.. I have also been told that while on the dyno, some guys have found a 12 to 15 hp drop once adding the under the carb style stop..

I often thought about trying the in-line deal again, but my stuff has been pretty consistent lately....

Hi Charlie....

I now have both stops on the car and can use either. I could also use both if I wanted to.
I was struggling with a setup that worked fine for me in the past, on my old car.....and never could get it right on my current car.

Decided to completely change it up and hope for the best.

The stop I have has nothing under the carb when it is wide open...Nothing in the flow path to hurt MPH's.....but without some track time I have no idea how it will run.

Number 1 stop does not make one like the TS-6....

The racer I bought it from did very well with it......
he bought the new stepper motor style Dedenbaer....
