I would imagine the satanic and vulgar stuff didn't go over well in the bible belt areas? Doubt anyone would even bat an eye now.

The racial stuff (even if unintended like on Tweed's Olds) was probably more accepted back then, but would probably get you a visit from Jesse Jackson these days.
