Fire Suit rule ?
For cars running 10.90 and 9.90 do they require a -15 suit now if they are running alky? I have heard yes and no and cannot seem to get a clear answer on this, does anyone here know.

Re: Fire Suit rule ?
I read the updated rules yesterday and the way I take it is Front engine open super charged or NO2 cars need one but in S/G S/ST over 135 you only need a 3.2A5 suit.

Re: Fire Suit rule ?
as I understand from reading the rules' revision, they backed off on the -15 boots and gloves (neither of which even exist, btw) for the NOS/alcohol cars running quicker than 7.49 -- but not the -15 firesuit requirement... spoke with Bob Lang about it, apparently the folks in charge are trying to address the serious injuries incurred in 2007 in fire-related accidents (e.g., Chick Ross)
as the -15 firesuit is a $1400+ ticket, it'll be interesting to see what happens to the T/D car counts... srm |

Re: Fire Suit rule ?
SHHHHH........I wanted to build a new car to run T/D and 8.90 @ 177, I think I will BAIL on this idea.
1) SFI Diaper = $500.00 2) Suit = $1500.00 3) Updated Car = $15,000.00 (more after I sell mine) 4) Motor Upgrade = $5,000.00 - $7,000.00 5) Nitrous = $1,500.00 6) Alcohol System = $2,000.00 Not doing anything to my car and watching EVERYBODY else jumping through flaming hoops to pass tech with what they got already *****************PRICELESS************************ Ill stick with my 2000 Mullis Antique Dragster and run 8.90 @ 170 and keep MONEY IN THE BANK! |

Re: Fire Suit rule ?
I have had a -15 suit since we started running nitrous. I got mine from Leaf. They did an excellent job. That has always been the rule in T/S and T/D nothing new. The only way you don't have to have one in T/S is if you have a steel firewall.

Re: Fire Suit rule ?
not true... the -15 requirement for TD was rescinded last year for naturally-aspirated, rear-engine NOS cars... matched the IHRA rule, which I believe is still -5... not sure about TS, you're probably correct
