Mark, It's OK that you don't like the paint style Jeff chose with his own money. You made sure to mention it twice on this thread. The beauty of racing and life, is supposed to be that everyone can do as they want with their money and time, provided it is not hurting someone else. This thread wasn't an opinion poll about the aesthetics. It was that someone, and based the number of likes a lot of others feel the same, that it is a cool car. Old meets new. He is happy, then I am happy for him. The car ROCKS!!

I went by and did a "double and triple" look at Hefler's new car over the weekend. Man, that thing is just too cool.

Did you by any chance see what size tire he's running in the rear? They dont look very wide, was just wondering.

Couldn't agree more. The concept of an LS-powered old car is somewhat cool, but adding the "rat rod" aspect goes nowhere for me. If it was an immaculate '55 (like Bick's red, 2-door wagon in Division 5), I would be onboard, but this just doesn't work, IMHO.

I talked about this for a few years. I joked with Bob Bagley about him putting his COPO engine in his 57 wagon. LOL!! Glad to see somebody actually did it!! This car is bad *** cool!

Jeff's a good racer, and I hope he does well with his new car. That's all I'm going to say here on this subject, unless someone tries to take a personal shot at me.. In that case I'd say, have your resume' in hand.

I’m a fan of the Hefler’s and a big fan of that ride.

I'm usually not a fan of the "patina" movement as it goes against my OCD-everything-must-be-clean-and-shiny nature. However, it works on some cars. His '55 is flat-out cool; paint or no paint. You could pick your favorite color and have it professionally applied and that car wouldn't be any cooler than it is right now in my humble opinion. Nice build!
