Smile Stock/Superstock association in Div 4 area.

I've noticed it seems like every area of the country has a S/ss association that put on their own races except for the div 4 area.It would be nice to have a few more class races to go to yearly besides just the Divisional races and the two nats. Just wondering?

Well there is nothing like this out west as well.....and we could certainly benefit from having an association with which to participate. However, the one non-NHRA S/SS program I am aware of is lucky to get 10 cars on any given day. It won't be long until we will be reminiscing of the good old days when we could actually run these "legal" cars.

We would love to run their programs.....But always seem to conflict
with some other race we have to attend!

Maybe next year we will go to more if schedule permits,

It does appear the Superstock/stock association and/or racing thins out after division 3. Distance between race tracks out west could be a factor.
Many years ago when I lived in New York. I believe it was Dave LeBrun who ran a great Association. Correct me if wrong but we would pay a fee in the beginning. There would be a few tracks involved and there were points winners as there were race winner. Had some sponsors too. You nailed it Mark. The good ole days..

Happy Holidays!

I'll preface this with "I just sold my Stocker earlier in the year, so I don't have a dog in the fight at the moment." but...

One of the big things to consider is that the pockets of racers in D-4 are so spread out. It might be more ideal to just do the races in one central location that everyone can travel to in a reasonable amount of time (i.e. Dallas area).

A recent development that I see as a positive for an Association is that the D-4 schedule is now weighted towards the first half of the year, leaving the summer and fall to get races done. That way you don't run into the problem of having too many races in a short stretch of time.

The most important thing and biggest challenge is finding someone that is going to step up to lead that charge; which would almost certainly mean that individual stepping back from competing due to the time involved.

It sounds like a good idea, Bill. We would love more Texas or Louisiana races.

I count 14 stock/ super stock cars within 50 miles of No Problem Raceway that would be a good start
