Default 350 Chevy cam core shortage

It seems like COVID is affecting everything. I need a new cam and lifters and Comp doesn't have any cores (cast or steel) until the end of August! Can you guys suggest an alternative cam company for Stock Eliminator camshafts? Anyone have a new one on a shelf for a 1980 350/190 engine? Thanks in advance! Ray

Have you contacted Bullet?
You may need to go with a billet core which I believe there may be some cores still out there. With a billet core, you will need PPPC lifters.

Thanks just got off the phone with Bullet. They have solid lifter cast cam cores in stock. Apparently they do not use a core for solid lifter steel cams. They start from billet to make a steel solid lifter cam. Ray

Try Clay Smith. I needed a hydraulic roller for a BBC street/strip car. No holdup. They had cams & lifters.

I had selection narrowed down to Crower or a Clay Smith custom. Crower had no cam cores.

Didn't hear much about the core shortages but we have been feeling the pinch so bad for solid flat tappet lifters for the past couple years, out of stock or piss poor product failures, (as we do mostly limited circle track engines) We have invested in the machinery and are now producing our house brand of flat tappet racing lifters. Everyone told me the cost would out weight the gain, but with the failure of several brand X junk flat lifters ruining entire engines, seems we are starting to see the light on start up costs already.
