Default 2009 NHRA Credentials

Can crewmember passes still be purchased at event or only electronically? Bill

From experience you can do it either way but the electronic is much easier.
Depending on the track and where they park the trailer it can be a hassle to do it at the track.
Drivers prior to the Phoenix race were told they could not park unless they had the electronic credentials.
It was just a threat as no one even looked at the credentials until you left and came back into the track.
The one time I left they wanted to stamp my hand then upon return they wanted to scan the ticket but the scanner batteries were dead. I asked what the hand stamp was for. I got a deer in the headlights look and then a request to scan the ticket when the scanner did not work they just sent us on in.
The people guarding the staging lanes when you went to run did not have a clue what they were looking at when the crew member tried to get into the lanes with the electronic credential.
It should get easier as time goes by.
My 2 Cents

Cool Re: 2009 NHRA Credentials

Looking at the NHRA on line national event entry form - did I miss something here ??? can you purchase the crew pass on there at the same time as when you are entering a race ???
I ran thru it up to the end to purchase ??

Talking Re: 2009 NHRA Credentials

At a national event, you must go to the VIP trailer. Last week in St Louis, they parked darn near the other side of I55. I not joking. The first of the year they were thretening to not park you. Now they dont even ask for tickets at parking. When you get to the track and you sit in line board to tears, walk up to the head of the line and see the man, he will have your parking credentials. That way when you get up to be parked, you get thru. Otherwise you have to stop and get out and get the credentials and it can slow things down. I have ran the Gators, Atlanta and St Louis Nationals. ( they still park you on top of each other like 500 more racers are coming) Parking is a non issue. Do yourself a big *** favor. Print your tickets and crew tickets on line. If you have your tickets, from tech you can go to the trailer and sign the waiver and be done with it.

You have to enter first, then buy tickets after. You will get a confirmation email and a last reminder about tickets. DONT forget to print (select) one free ticket that comes with your entry. Free, I love that part. Then you can buy up to 6 crew at 85 each. You can but do not have to put names on them. Also if you loose, forget them on your desk (that would be me) you can reprint them, it will void the old ones so dont try to use both. If you do not have a printer along, pack a lunch and try to find where they hid the VIP ticket trailer, it is a large black goose neck FULL THROTTLE trailer out in BFE.
