Default 70 1/2 z/28

Just looking for opinions on this guys. Someone came to me with pictures of a barn find 70 1/2 Z/28. It looks like an unmolested car except for a paint color change by the dealer in the 70s. I have yet to see a picture of the cowl tag and yes I have requested it. Asking price is $7500. I want to see it this weekend. Any opinions on price or experience with these cars? Its a 12-bolt car with a stick shift, forget the miles.

Does it have all its original stuff? IE LT1 motor, aluminum intake, the rims, M-21 or M-22? Even though all I have now is mopars I loved my 70 m22 Z28. Nice driving car. If its # matching could be a great buy, and a fun multi year restoration project to put it back to its original color, etc. The 70's will never, ever be worth what the 67-69 Zs are worth, but the parts and finish parts can be just as hard to find and $ to snag.

Good luck!

Eric

Keep the updates coming on this car. I had a 70 1/2 RS/SS back in the late 70's early 80's. I would like to have one again!

Red with black stripes auto, setting in my uncles dealership wash bay. Been waiting for a 68 Hemi Charger to be traded in (4 months) bought Z28 instead, $3100. Kept it for five years then sold it for $3300. With headers the best it ran was 14.20s, BF Goodrich radials would hook well. Starter brushes, tires and brakes only thing I replaced in 80,000 miles. Enjoyed the car very much. I was the third owner in a little over a year, 3000 miles

It has an open element chrome air cleaner, Holley, and Chevy aluminum intake. I again told him I want the cowl tag picture before I go see it.

Even if it is a clone, I would be all over that one if it is still solid. In Canada that is really cheap for that car and they rarely ever come up for sale here.
Man I wish had kept my 70 1/2 RS.

Brian, the original air cleaner would be a dual snorkel unit...black base/snorkels and a chrome air cleaner lid with the 350 360h.p. decal.

Hope it's a good original car. -Al

I think you should pass on it and tell ME where it is. I'll buy it!
