Most any starter/alternator shop will rebuild the starter.
You can buy a rebuild kit from jegs or summit and do the water pump yourself.
From experience the best thing to do with the water pump is to just replace it if it had a water leak. I rebuilt mine and it was a mistake as it did not last long after the rebuild due to the water damage to it.
Just my 2 cents.

There's a racer on the Dragraceresults forums that does the water pumps. He goes by Green 1 and he's done 2 water pumps for me. He can rewind them too.

I am sure a quality rebuilder in SC can rebuild the starter. Ronnie Charnes from Memphis, Tennessee has rebuilt my Tilton s before.....I fixed my CSR water pump myself, I threw it in the fricken garbage can and bought a Meziere ....

Mark It doesn't matter it's for your race car. Just put it in the junk pile and buy a new one. LOL. Barry

WE had a good starter rebuilder in the area but he retired. I was looking for a friend and when I saw the waterpump I suggested he do what you said, junk it.

thanks
