LVMS is an expensive track to operate.
They can not make money without spectators.
I would not be surprised to seen them cancelled everything
if no spectators by then OR at least the Nationals at
a minimum.

It would destroy our points and entry Stats for this
year = AND will not have grade points to race Nationals
next year.

Rumor floating around Gainesville this weekend is if Las Vegas doesn't happen the Finals will be moved to FLA.

While I certainly would never rule anything out during this crazy year, if moved Houston or Dallas would certainly be more centrally located.

That being said as long as the casinos are open in Las Vegas I would think not allowing spectators at an outdoor event seems a little far out.

But again this is 2020.

Wonder if the racetrack is in a different county as the casinos ?

Would not surprise me if the World Finals were held @ Indy

The track wanted or tried for 15,000 fans at the Nascar race this weekend and got zero.

I think a lot of the races like WCHRA (and divisional races) at Vegas don't really have many spectators, so I think they can make $ with no spectators for the smaller non-Nationals events.

LVMS still hasn't got approval for spectators at the Finals.

John, it is an expensive track to operate because it is one of the best.... of course, they depend on spectators to spend money, and GAMBLE. That is what they do, and do it well.

I guess the powers can do anything they want, but how could they justify not allowing a socially distanced, masked, outside event when the casinos are open?

LVMS and several other major NASCAR and NHRA tracks are owned and controlled by Speedway Motorsports which really is the same as saying Bruton Smith and his son.
They have learned that in the world as it is today it is possible to put on a show without spectators and still make money.
Television and Covid 19 restrictions are the key factors.
Casino's and how they operate have almost nothing to do with how they make their decisions. It's all about the show.
NHRA now has a new major sponsor so they are feeling better on their side of the problem.
Stay tuned.
