GLSSA Double Combo 9/21-22 We Have the Track to Ourselves

The final stop on the Classic Instruments/GLSSA 2024 season is just a week away at the historic Ubly Dragway September 21 & 22. Just like when GLSSA went to Ubly in 2021 the GLSSA cars will be the only cars / classes running at the track that weekend.

If you missed the race in 2021 Ubly is a neat track, we all had a great time and it was really cool to have the whole place to ourselves. For this race along with the weekend being run 1/8 mile, we are going to change up our race format a little more to shake things up a bit. For the first time in the GLSSA series we are going to split up Stock and Super Stock classes (NSS and Modified production cars will run with Super Stock) and run them separately until the finals. This will allow us to split up the down time a little better between our qualifying and elimination runs and be more like a true stock/ super stock event with the classes separate. Each class will have their own elimination ladder we will run through and the last remining car in Stock will run the last remaining car in Super Stock for the guaranteed purse.

The payouts will remain the same for each round as if it were a normal GLSSA race for us and Points will be counted just like they normally would be counted, we are just keeping the two classes separate until the end. We will be doing the Calcutta program like we normally do with a $40 buy in and whoever goes the furthest that buys in will get all the cash. There will be a separate calcutta?s for each class that will be won before the two class winners race in the final.

After these two races we will crown our 2024 season champion!
Saturday September 21 race #6 presented by Port-A-Tree timing systems
-Gates open at 10am
-2 qualifying runs will start at 2pm
-Racer meeting / giveaways / ladder showing after qualifying
-Eliminations will follow
-We will be having a racer appreciation Pizza party after racing is completed or around 6-7pm with Pizzas and beer provided by the GLSSA.
-If anyone is interested we can also setup another Practice tree race (like we did in Milan 2023) after racing is done for the day.

Sunday September 22 race #7 presented by VP Racing Fuels
-Gates open 9am
-1 qualifying run at 10am
-Racer meeting / giveaways / ladder showing after qualifying
-Eliminations after qualifying

Racers will pay $30 entry fee for each race at the Gate and then the remaining $110 cash entry fee ($140 total entry) to Charley or myself before we run. Crew tickets are $10 each day.

We have one last Port-A-Tree Next Gen Practice Tree to give away this weekend. The racer who wins the most rounds in the two days combined will win the practice tree!
