Default Congratulations Jim Grosse Jr.

Congratulations Jim on your Sonoma win and congrats to Justin on runner up. That was a stellar final with superb driving by both drivers. Hello to the Grossi family whom I met 31 years ago. Enjoy! Bobby and Nancy Rashid.

Great Job Jimmy, I knew that "Pro Mod" car was going to be tough, and this car is really nice looking and well engineered, Fred Moreno

Hi Bobby,

It's has been a long time! I hope all is well with you and thanks for starting this thread.

I appreciate the kind words and congratulations from everyone - Thank you all.

I love racing at Sears Point and obviously had a great weekend being there with my brothers Darin & Sante, and our families. I had 4 good rounds and 1 super lucky round.

Jim Rau nearly got me in 1st round. He qualified on the bottom of the ladder with a best run of 0.33 over in Q2. Jim told me that he was having shifter problems and went with a dial-in that he had at a prior race, which was .83 under the index. All I was thinking was DO NOT RED LIGHT! I was .105 on the tree and Mr Rau cut a .053 light but broke out by .049. He said it felt so good to be on a clean pass that he just wanted to run it out. That was my lucky round!

Second round was the closest. Larry Scarth put up a .003 light and ran .014 over. Somehow I slipped by him for the stripe. Great package Larry!

3rd round was with Sergio Crespo who left with an .028 light and took the stripe but broke out by a little more than me. I always enjoy seeing Sergio at the races. He's always happy & has a totally positive attitude. Thank you for your enthusiasm Sergio.

4th round was Jody Lang. What can you say about Jody other than watch out! The guy is a machine. His lights were .012, .018, .018, and an .018 against me. Jody got off the line better than I did, but I was able to run closer to my dial and slip around him for a .008 stripe.

Final round against Justin. No need for commentary on Justin - Everyone already knows! I knew he would be green, knew it would be a great light, and knew he would be on the dial. My brothers & I discussed my dial and we all felt good about 8.50. I practiced on a pocket tree for a few minutes in the car and felt really good about pushing the tree. When I let the button go and the light stayed green I knew it was good, but I didn't catch him until the very end and only got one little blip in. I think that one blip saved me!

A few good rounds and a lot of great memories!
Thank you,
Jim Grossi
