Default Stickshift; 3-Step using the MSD 7al3.. Help please

How do you hook up the built in 3 step on a stick car? So far I have tried using MSD-8960 relay and put a button on the shifter and a button on the clutch pedal. I set it up so the button on the shifter powers everything (burnout rpm, linelock, ) and then after depressing the clutch pedal I let go of the shifter button and the clutch pedal takes over (launch rpm, linelock, burnout rpm which is overrided by launch rpm).

However, when i press the shifter handle (before I even press the clutch) I keep getting 12 volts to BOTH the burnout and launch terminals on the ignition box, which means I have no burnout rev limit because launch is taking over. Everything else works and linelock is still being held until i release the clutch. Just trying to figure out how to get rid of the launch rev limit on the burnout when I am only holding the button and not the clutch. MSD keeps sending me diagrams for an external two step and not a built in 3 step.

Thanks for the input guys and the rick's switch did sound pretty interesting but I figured out a different way to make my 3 step work using the toggle switch i already have to flick for my run recorder.
