Lack of vacuum will be the problem.Canister or Hydro Boost (P/S) set up will fix it

Most aftermarket controllers don't need a MAF . It might be a restriction on the inlet . If you don't use 4th gear , then why not lock up the converter in 3rd gear and get that benefit in efficiency ?
