Re: Engine / trans combo ?
According to the book "Junior Stock" Drag Racing the Family Sedan by Doug Boyce, Lowe's '58 Pontiac was a fuel injected 338 horse 370.

Re: Engine / trans combo ?
I think Joe Jackson's mom raced a 57 or 58 Pontiac not sure if it was fuel injected or not. I remember seeing a picture of her with it and a trophy.

Re: Engine / trans combo ?
Tommy, There were several 58's that were competitive.
I've seen 4 bbl's , Tri-powers , and FI. Many switched back and forth too, adding to the confusion. http://wildaboutcarsonline.com/cgi-b...=9990357142920
