Do you think the bureaucrats at the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) are feeling the heat? I think so.

Thanks to folks like you, CVA has led the way in demanding reform at VA. But it hasn't been easy. It's been an uphill battle all the way.

We helped get the media's attention by calling on the president to bring in new leadership, and by hand-delivering our #MillionVetBacklog petition to the White House.

The response? Lots of rhetoric from the Obama administration, but no accountability and no reform.

But it's not too late. The president and his allies in Congress could take a historic step toward supporting military veterans and their families by joining our push for accountability at VA.

Last week we launched the VA Accountability Project, a web-based campaign to share information on the troubles at VA and mobilize Americans to fix them. Through this Project, we're urging Congress to pass the VA Management Accountability Act, an important first step toward restoring the department to its mission of serving veterans.

The VA Management Accountability Act, sponsored by Rep. Jeff Miller (R-Fla.) and Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.), would empower the VA secretary to replace senior executives who fail to perform. Sounds like a common sense reform, right? But we know how bureaucrats and their backers on the Hill are good at stonewalling dynamic reforms like this.

The question we intend to ask every member of Congress -- until this bill is passed -- is: "Who are you with? The veteran who is being underserved at VA? Or the underperforming VA bureaucrat who can't be fired?" The answer is simple, but the politics are complex.

That is why we need your help this Thursday, February 27. We are banding together with veterans, their family members and concerned Americans for a National Day of Action. We are going to call your Senators and Congressmen and compel them to support the Miller-Rubio VA reform bill. Join us!

Leaders in Washington have tried to ignore your voice for too long -- but veterans have reached their limit, and won't stand for it anymore. The VA needs accountability -- now. So let's turn up the heat.
