Default No Tech At NHRA Events

Let's hear some feedback from racers who have attended NHRA National events so far this year. Inquiring minds want to know how "no tech" is working out.

Also is there tech as usual at LODRS points meets?

LODRs still have tech, no change.

At the Gators and Houston they did tech in the lanes before you run. All safety equipment, Chassis Cert., under hood and in the trunk ect. I dont see anything different, other than where it takes place. The divisonals have been the same as always. Hope this helps.

Thanks Kevin for the reply. Wonder what would happen if they found something wrong just before the racer makes a run? I know it is up to the racer to see that his car is correct but there would be no time to fix it and he would miss that run in hopes there would be another run later. Guess everyone needs to make sure their car is correct in every way.

No tech at nhra events sucks. Been to 2 events so far and it's a damn joke. It won't be long before someone gets hurt and then they will see what nhra's insurance company has to say about it. Gary Summers

Gentlemen, if you read the posts to this thread from well known racers who have been at events this year, rather than just reading the title of this incorrectly titled thread, you will see there is most definitely still tech.

Let me rephrase the question Kevin....How much are the cars in Stock and S/S being looked at in tech at national events? Are they checking front suspension, checking rear suspension, looking for trans shields? Or is it just a seat belt and helmet check in the staging lanes?

That's basically what I saw this weekend was spot checks for seatbelts, helmets etc. I don't have no issue with the way it was done. Fact is the overwhelming majority of these cars have been to 3 or 4 division races already this year and checked there. I did hear that Comp had extensive tech done in their pits but not sure about any others classes.
